The 4 services of the month above will all inclusive of haircut, olaplex mini treatment, and l’oreal treatment. One gentle reminder for our VIP members is service of the month will not be entitled to further VIP discount.

Let’s do a breakdown of each individual service to showcase more photos and to recap what the service is about.

Color + Highlights (Japanese Highlights)

This was our recent service of the month for November. It was so well-received that we decided to extend this until CNY, but without the free product. In short, this is our usual color + highlights service but we have introduced 7 different colors with japanese highlights.

The highlights below are all done by bleaching, but we can do other kinds of highlights too, either by coloring or lightening if you prefer non-bleach highlights. Here are the 7 japanese highlights photos below. If you want to read more on the Japanese highlights, click here.

Japan Smoky Color without bleach

By far, this is our most popular coloring style which I believe is due to it not having to bleach the hair and yet it is able to achieve special colors like ash purple. This is done with a lifting, to lift the hair to a light brown, and thereafter, the color application.

Lifting is a less damaging process compared to bleaching, a healthier alternative but the tradeoff is the outcome is darker. This is like a smoky, darker version of the original intended color. To read about the entire procedure of this and the entire color choices, click here.

Balayage without bleach

The traditional balayage is a coloring style where the lower half of the hair is bleached and colored. With knowledge from our japan smoky color series, we can now do lifting on the lower 60% length of the hair and do a smoky balayage, for example, a smoky rose brown. Instead of the full length smoky color, you have a healthier alternative to the classic balayage, a non-bleach balayage. More info on the balayage without bleach here.

Yinyang 2-tone color without bleach

This would be the most straightforward coloring style, similar to an underlight, this would be the normal version of an underlight for 2 layers of coloring without bleaching. This means, you can do colors like a darker brown on the outside, lighter brown on the inside, or dark purple on the outside, and dark red on the inside. To read up more on this coloring style over here.

That’s about it! Let’s dive in more on our CNY plan so that you can start to plan the date for your CNY hair. In short, our prices and services of the month will remain the same all the way until we close for CNY, which is 20/1/2023. Our operating duration will also change to 10am to 10pm from 1/1 to 20/1.

For the CNY surcharge, it will begin on 11/1 to 20/1, there will be no surcharge for December. The CNY surcharge will be at $15 for chemical services, which means anything that is chemical-based like rebonding, perming, coloring, keratin treatment, premium treatments, etc. And for haircut (including olaplex mini treatment), the surcharge will be $5. If you’re doing a chemical service + haircut, the surcharge will remain at $15 instead of $15 + $5.

Hello there! Each year we will be doing some form of improved variation of a particular coloring style and this year is no different too. Highlights have always been one of our best and most popular services, and as usual, let’s take this up another level, with 7 different colors. Heard of orange highlights? You’ll like it, I’m sure! Let’s go!

To do a recap on our past highlights innovation, a couple of years back, we first started with our Japan Autumn Highlights and introduced 3 new types of highlighting styles in Ash Blonde. Fringe Lights, Surface Lights, and See-through Lights.

Fringe Lights

The highlights are done mainly on the fringe area by the side of the hair. More prominent on the front. The hair looks bluish mainly because of the evening light.

Surface Lights

As the name goes, for such highlights, it is only done on the surface of the hair with mostly thinner streaks and a couple of slightly thicker streaks. For the bulk of the hair, it is still the base color so this would lean more on the quieter aspect. Not too much but enough to see something different. Sometimes, less is more! This is our previous hair volunteer, still feeling thankful for the nice photos that she sent to us to show her beautiful highlights.

See-through Lights

Mostly about seeing through the different layers of highlights from our naked eyes. It has multiple depths to it as both the surface and the layer underneath have highlights. More of a 3D highlight as you can see many many tiny streaks of light on different layers of the hair. But despite the complexity of the highlights style, it still blends very well and very comfortable to look at.

Thereafter, we had our money piece highlights last year where we combine our highlights style with the additional money piece style on the fringe. Money piece is the name of the coloring style where the 2 parts of the fringe area is colored. This is not part of highlights but rather an additional add-on.

And this year, for our upcoming service of the month for November 2022, not only we’re implementing the highlights style we have before above (except the money piece streaks), but we’re going to focus more on the combinations between the base and highlights, and also introduce a wider variety of colors instead. There will be combinations that you might not have seen before.

Before I start, all the highlights are done from our Fruity Color Pigment Mask, which means the ingredients are mostly natural, made from fruits, and containing hair vitamins. Moving on, these are our Japanese Autumn Highlights with 7 different colors. We’ll start with one of my favorite colors, the color of passion - Red.

Dark Red Base with Red Highlights

This will be a classic combination of colors, the same color but with darker and lighter shades. Together with the Japanese highlights style, See-through Lights, it looks very global and modern. You can actually see the little streaks of lighter red on the different layers of the hair. Very nice!

Dark Purple Base with Violet Red Highlights

If you find the red above to be too vibrant, here’s a softer version of red. The Red Violet that is a little purplish-pinkish version of red. This combination will be a little more gentle and soft, with more attention given to the entire gentle combination of both base and highlights, instead of just highlights alone. If the above red highlights is an extrovert, the violet red would be the introvert version of it. The front view of the combination looks so gorgeous!

On a side note, this is not a money piece on the fringe, it's a simple small streak of highlights, part of the highlights coloring. Money piece will be thicker.

Dark Copper Base with Orange Highlights

Orange is a very rare color to be done on the hair because it might be a little striking for some. But what if we use a striking color on a subtle highlights style - the Fringe Lights? It balances everything! It fulfilled the low-key look but the attention on the sides of the fringe is tuned up. I have to say this is the best combination among all of the colors here. Let’s not forget about the dark copper base too, this reddish brown shade compliments the orange well, allowing it to shine. Like I said, good combination, no, the best combination. Hahaha.

Dark Green Base with Ash Green Highlights

Let’s take a moment to enjoy the 2 beautiful shades of green. In this clean and green country, most of us when we thought about green, we might think of tree leaves or grass. However, green has some beautiful shades too, such as the base color, it’s sort of a brownish-green but with more dark green elements. Similar to the orange fringe lights highlight above, this is also a fringe light but with some surface light to showcase more contrast.

Blueblack Base with Blue Highlights

This would be a more classic combination of the 2 shades of blue, darker and lighter blue. We have incorporated a slight feminine touch, a Miranda Light where there is a fringe coloring of just a couple of mm to showcase the beautiful lighter blue on the wavy fringe. With the waves, it looks a little like balayage but it’s actually highlights instead. You can never go wrong with the classic option.

Dark Purple Base with Violet Highlights

One more classic combination like the above, but now it’s 2 shades of purple. Like blue, purple has always been the top 5 colors done by our customers. Purple is meant to be a subtle and cool color that is suitable for ladies with lighter skin. For this combination, we focus more on tuning it slightly less subtle with more obvious highlights but retain the blending elements.

Dark Reddish Brown Base with Ash Pink Highlights

You might find this familiar, this was the same volunteer for our surface lights above and we refreshed her color with Ash Pink. From here, we can look at the beautiful aspect of this surface lights style, the many little streaks of pink with a couple of thicker pink streaks. I remember there were quite a number of ladies who wanted to do this too, the exact same thing.

Other combinations

Other than the colors above, you can also do the colors in your desired color, say, an ash blue highlights? Or if you prefer the classic brown, we’ll include more examples at the end of the article.

I hope you like the highlights because, for me, it looks astonishing! I used to think that highlights are probably just thick blonde stripes on the head but wow, I have to say what we are introducing this time is really creative and colorful too. Hahaha. And here’s the main dish of this article, our service of the month for November (and also Dec 2022 to CNY 2023) -

Hello there! For ladies with frizzy and unmanageable hair, this will be very helpful. A new article to introduce a promotion that we’re having for the first time. And also a free big 500ml hair mask. Read till the end! Although we have had this product for quite a few years already, we have not run a promotion on this before. That other day we did a calculation, counting how many of our customers did this service, and the number is quite surprising.

It was around two third of all our appointments in a month. Our regulars and VIP members might know about this service but it’s time to introduce it to more people so that more people can enjoy the effect of this service.

Introducing our Keramimic Treatment, keratin + collagen-based treatment which will have a tremendous effect on the hair. The name is very interesting too, it is made up of 2 different words - Keratin + Mimic, keramimic. This means, it is imitative of the element - keratin.

Without going too in-depth on hair science, 90% of our hair is made up of keratin, and it is an essential protein to protect the hair from damage. And collagen is a type of structural protein that the body needs to produce keratin.

Once again, what is our hair mostly made up of? Keratin. And what does this treatment provide? Keratin + Collagen, exactly what the hair needs.

Before we discuss the effect, let’s go through a visual representation of a damaged hair that undergoes the treatment -

For this lady, she had her hair bleached entirely a couple of rounds in the past, this is actually a very beautiful light blonde but we can also see that the hair is quite lifeless, frizzy, and a little unmanageable. The hair will feel very rough too.

A healthy hair is full of keratin and collagen so the strand appears fuller, healthier, and docile. By docile, it means there are little flyaway strands and it has sufficient weight to keep the hair down without flying around.

When the hair is bleached, layers of the hair might be stripped away by the bleaching so sometimes the hair appears thinner. It’s similar to our human body, when we have a bit of muscle, we look healthier and stronger, and the same goes for the hair too.

This means, conversely, without sufficient keratin in the hair, the typical outcome will be like this, lifeless, frizzy, and unmanageable.

And after the keramimic treatment, this is what it looks like

The entire hair looks like it has hit the refresh F5 button on the keyboard, it looks entirely different. Haha.

Previously, the 3 issues are lifeless, frizzy, and unmanageable, it is not lifeless anymore as we can see the strands have gotten slightly thicker. This is because a lot of keratin + collagen has been applied and locked in each hair strand itself.

To add further, when the strand has sufficient keratin to fix all the damaged parts, it will be visibly fuller by itself, and with it being slightly heavier (extra keratin), the frizz and unmanageable issues are reduced by a lot. This is what healthy hair should look like.

With that said, this is our service of the month for August 2022 -

Keramimic Treatment @ $108 (originally at $138)

This is for all hair lengths, inclusive of haircut, with a free keramimic hair mask

The base of this treatment is made up of Keratin + Collagen, one of our best all-rounded treatment

Function of the treatment

As a lot of keratin + collagen will be applied and locked in the hair, this helps to reduce frizz, soften the hair by a lot, increase the manageability and vitality of the hair. If you want softer, well-managed, lesser frizz, visibly healthier hair, this is it. When the hair loses its keratin and is damaged, the most effective solution will be to replenish the keratin back in the hair. You give the hair what it needs. A very simple and effective answer to haircare.

This is what will be given for free, no cost at all, it will be a huge boost and a great help in the hair maintenance, helping to prolong the effect from the keramimic treatment. It is originally at $58 but we are including this for free under the Keramimic Treatment above at $108.

Short FAQ

1. Is this like the keratin treatment? It is slightly similar but it’s not a keratin treatment. Keratin treatment has a stronger smoothing and straightening effect, the keramimic treatment is more focused on the softening, moisturizing, an all-rounded service, but a lot lesser on the straightening effect.

2. So will it straighten the hair? It will, but not for long. The straightening effect is not strong.

If you are planning to do coloring, you can combine the coloring service with the keramimic treatment too. It will help to balance out the damages. Here are some of the photos that combine coloring with the treatment -

That’s about it for the treatment. I hope you enjoy the treatment as much as our customers do. To book an appointment, you can call our hair studios at 6259 4631 (tiong bahru) or 6336 1476 (bugis cube), whatsapp us directly @ http://wa.me/6590250432 (whatsapp only) or head to our website, https://www.stevevstudios.com/appointment .
